Source Miguel Ferrer, best known for starring as Owen Granger on NCIS: Los Angeles, died Thursday of cancer. He was 61. Ferrer, who appeared in numerous films and television shows throughout his career, passed peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends, according to CBS.
Miguel was one of those guys that makes you say “oh yeah I know him” but have no idea who he is. He’s collected 123 acting credits since starting his career in 1981. That’s INSANE. He’s mostly stuck with TV shows, cameos, and voice-over bits, but he’s got a few decent movies under his belt too. Highlights include Star Trek, RoboCop, Twin Peaks, Blank Check, Mr. Magoo, Mulan, Crossing Jordan, Desperate Housewives, Iron Man 3, and most recently NCIS Los Angeles. I usually like to keep this blog light and happy, but when the industry loses a guy who’s built a career like Miguel I have to stop and take a moment to give him some respect. RIP to the guy who wrote a blank check in the 90’s and made us all believe you could by a mansion and everything that goes with it for only $1 million.
